Abstract:

Chronic airway diseases represent a major burden of chronic diseases in China, and influenza virus infection is a key trigger for their acute exacerbations. Influenza symptoms in patients with chronic airway diseases are often atypical and can easily be confused with exacerbations of the underlying disease. Accordingly, experts from the Chinese Thoracic Society, the Respiratory Disease Prevention and Control Specialty Societies of Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, the Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Committee of Chinese Association of Chest Physician, and the County Respiratory Professional Committee of China Association of Health Promotion and Education jointly compiled the Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Managment of Influenza in Adults with Chronic Airway Diseases. This guideline addresses 12 core clinical questions and, based on the GRADE methodology, provides 11 recommendations covering key areas such as disease prevention, early diagnosis, and precision treatment. This article focuses on introducing the background of the guideline development and its core recommendations.
