Abstract: Tuberculosis is one of the oldest infectious diseases that put great threat to the human life. Ethambutol (EMB) is one of the most important anti-tuberculosis drugs for the drug sensitive and multidrug resistant tuberculosis. With the long time use of this drug EMB-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis is on the rise and being reported all over the world. This article reviewed the research progress in molecular mechanism of EMB resistance.
